September NSA meeting

  • Arlington Heights Memorial Library 500 North Dunton Avenue Arlington Heights, IL, 60004 United States (map)

Long-time club member Tom Auchter will present a tour of the Arecibo Observatory radio telescope based on a recent visit to Puerto Rico. Completed in 1963 and operational to this day, Arecibo Observatory's 1,000-foot (305-meter) radio telescope was the world's largest single-aperture telescope for over fifty years. Tom will summarize the history and discoveries.
