Speaker: Gary Ross of the Grand Rapids Amateur Astronomical Association.

Title: "The Rehabilitation of Percival Lowell".

Abstract: Ask any astronomer what Percival Lowell did and you'll probably hear that he was fixated on finding canals on Mars. But there was much more to the long astronomical career of this famous American than that: He made many important contributions to astronomy equipment, astronomical methods, and the public awareness of astronomy, which this presentation will discuss.
