Stars in the Southern Sky

  • Roselle Public Library 40 S Park St Roselle, IL, 60172 United States (map)

Have you ever wondered what the stars in the southern hemisphere looked like? What sorts of
constellations and other interesting things do we see from places like Perth, Australia? Michelle Nichols from Adler Planetarium will lead our virtual tour to the southern skies - and we won't even have to leave Illinois! This program is part of the On The Same Page tri-community read, a month-long celebration of the novel, The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman. Following the program there will be outdoor telescope viewing of the northern night sky provided by members of the Northwest Suburban Astronomers (weather permitting). There is no cost to attend. Registration is required for the 7:00 p.m. indoor program (call 630 529-1641 ext.*211). Registration begins on August 18.
