Searching for the Edge of the Solar System
 Abstract:
Where does the Solar System end? Where does the "space between the stars" begin? And what's it like out there? Michelle will present images and new science from NASA's Interstellar Boundary Explorer (IBEX) mission, the little spacecraft that is adding a huge amount of information about our region of the Milky Way Galaxy.

NSA Star Parties (all are open to the public at no cost) 

Saturday, April 28, 2012, National Astronomy Day, 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Harper College, 1200 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine, Illinois (Buildings Z and Observatory). Programs, exhibits and children's activities in Building Z. Observing through telescopes (weather permitting) at the observatory after sunset. Indoor activities are rain or shine. There is no cost to attend and no registration is required. We will be posting more information (including program schedule) at this link.
